How We Make Them

ReelMovieKids.com takes great care to craft a professional product for each of our students. Over time, we have developed a system of assessing and evaluating each of our students individually, allowing the students to contribute to the creative process by brainstorming and bringing forward their own ideas for sketches, and then sending each class’ ideas off to our writers to craft professionally-written “Funny Little Movies” for each one of them that best reflects their comic abilities. During the final three weeks of class, the Funny Little Movies are rehearsed in class, and the students are asked to memorize the material.

At the completion of each 10-Week Session of class, a professional shoot is conducted – usually one or two days. The children and their parents receive a “Call Sheet,” just like the ones used on a professional shoot. Each student then shows up on set at the appointed time, and works with a real film crew to shoot their funny little movie. At the conclusion of the lengthy shoot day(s), the funny little movies go to our corporate office, where they are professionally edited, scored, and posted to the website. The editing and post-production process takes approximately 4-8 weeks.

In some markets, our Licensed Affiliates (LAFFs) may even choose to conduct a “red carpet premiere” for their students, which is a tremendous thrill for the kids, as they get the opportunity to see themselves right up on the big screen, just like at a Hollywood premiere.
